About The Event
When Dr. Mark Benden '90 '92 '06 came to Texas A&M as a student, he wanted to become a physician. He wanted to help people feel better. Everything was going according to plan until his senior year - he took Ergonomics as an elective and his inner "physicianeer" emerged. His lightbulb moment: He could use his engineering knowledge to proactively 'treat' people by making them more comfortable, thereby preventing illness and injury. He secured his first patent while still a student.
His efforts developing standing desk environments changed the office and classroom forever.
